Lycoming County libraries offer free theatre production

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – All six libraries in the Lycoming County Library System will join to provide patrons with free entry to an upcoming theater performance on March 13 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Community Theatre League, 100 W. Third St.

“The Lion King: Kids” is a stage adaptation of the hit Disney movie, but this production is unique because it is a Penguin Project show. The Penguin Project is dedicated to giving children with diverse abilities the opportunity to perform and be involved in theatrical productions.

“It’s a great opportunity for all libraries to come together and offer the opportunity for families to experience live theater,” said System Programming Director Nicole Rader. “By offering a program like this one, the Lycoming County Library System can provide an unforgettable experience for the county and our community.”

This is an all-ages family program. Due to venue space, registration is required and limited. To register, contact your local library. Come out and experience the beauty of live theatre with a roaring good show.

The Lycoming County Library System supports the PA Forward statewide initiative, which believes that when Pennsylvania residents improve their command of five types of literacy – basic, information, civic and social, health and financial – they can achieve greater success as students, parents, employees, consumers, as citizens. Libraries are community centers of information, technology and learning that will fuel educational and economic opportunity for all of our citizens.

The Lycoming County Library System comprises the Hughesville Public Library, James V. Brown Library, Jersey Shore Public Library, Dr. W.B. Konkle Memorial Library, Montgomery Area Public Library, and Muncy Public Library. Visit lclspa.org for more information.
