Lycoming County Library System partners with BLaST IU 17 for ReMake Learning events

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming County Library System libraries, in partnership with BLaST IU 17, will host a total of 22 hands-on learning programs through pre-selected themes of Arts, Maker, Outdoor Learning, Science, Technology, and Youth Voice from May 2-22.

 

As a result of this partnership, several libraries within the Lycoming County Library System also received mini-grants to provide these programs. Out of the 22 programs, 16 received funding through the partnership.

 

Highlighted programs include:

     Montgomery Area Public Library: May 3 from 4-5 p.m. – Black-Out Poetry. For ages 11-17, unleash the power of your creativity and unique poetic voice through the art of Blackout Poetry. 

     Muncy Public Library: May 3 from 10-11 a.m. – We’re Going on a Bear Hunt. During a special edition of their weekly Toddler Storytime, participants will explore the wonders of nature and enjoy a snack and craft. 

     Dr. W. B. Konkle Memorial Library, Montoursville: May 8 from 4-5 p.m. – Building Buddies. Use your imagination to create something special with blocks, magnetic tiles, and more.

     Hughesville Area Public Library: May 8 from 1-2 p.m. – Ridiculous Nicholas’ Super Science Show. All ages are welcome to this fun, entertaining comedy and science show. In case you can’t make this Ridiculous Nicholas show, he will be visiting Muncy, Jersey Shore, and the James V. Brown Libraries as well.

     James V. Brown Library: May 11 from 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. – The Kids Safe Symposium. In partnership with PA Rep. Jamie Flick and the Lycoming County Coroner’s Office, there will be a bike safety training and bike rodeo as well as a prize giveaway. Additional partners will be there providing safety and health resources.
